A gold and blue macaw feeding. Although there is a huge amount of illegal trade of this species and other species of macaws, there are good populations in certain regions of Bolivia where this species remains.

A young ocelot, with reflective eyes after being seized. A victim of illegal trade and loss of habitat, the species' populations are decreasing. There was a time when his skin was valuable. Hundreds of furs went out to other countries in an exodus that seriously threatened the conservation of the species.

The giant hummingbird of the Andean region feeding on a Kantuta flower. This flower is the national flower of Bolivia.

There is a legend in the Amazon that says that the god of all the creatures in the forest protects all the living spirits that are part of it. Sometimes this takes the figure and shape of a jaguar; other times, of a little man with jaguar footprints to avoid and scare hunters. But when the last jaguar has died, all the living creatures that are part of us will disappear.
